Federal Carved Dolphin Pedestal Base Mahogany Breakfast Table Federal Carved Dolphin Pedestal Base Mahogany Breakfast Table. C 1815. This was in the collection of Washington DC residence and is attributed to a noted Philadeplhia furniture maker. It has carved sea serpent/ dolphin bracket feet supporting and ornate leaf and rose carved floating cylindrical column reinforced with a metal plate. The surface has been polished and the apron conceals two round sided veneered linen drawers.The top measures 39 inches long by twentfive inches when closed and 53" when both drop leaves are opened. An excellent example of early Federal design. $9500.00
